Perhaps no one makes cars that are more consistent and rock-solid than Nissan. The 2019 Nissan Frontier, with its versatile design and rugged performance features, is no exception to that fact. This truck was awarded the “Most Dependable Midsize Pickup” by J.D. Power this year.

In the Cab and on the Road With the 2019 Frontier

Design

The new Frontier comes in many bold color choices, including Cayenne Red, Magnetic Black, Glacier White, and Arctic Blue. A variety of trims lets you decide which is more important to you: a spacious five-seat cabin, a longer truck bed, or both.

The interior is bright and uncluttered thanks to a number of smart storage features, including a multi-level center console, dual glove compartments, and under-seat storage trays. Dual-zone automatic temperature control and leather seats keep your passengers comfortable while chrome accents and a premium navigation system let you enjoy the pinnacles of luxury.

The bed of the Frontier is spacious, durable, and tough enough for any job. The high-tensile-steel ladder chassis can handle up to 1,460 lbs. of cargo. The available utili-track channel system has five channels that run the length and width of the bed, along with four heavy-duty cleats that let you position tie-downs practically anywhere.

Performance

The Frontier comes standard with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that produces 152 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft. of torque. For even bigger jobs, choose the available 4.0L V6 engine that provides 261 horsepower and 281 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine comes with a Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) feature that lets you choose ethanol E85, standard gasoline, or a combination of both. The Frontier has an impressive towing capacity of 6,720 lbs. when properly equipped.

Customize your ride even further by selecting the 6-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission with manual shift mode. 2-wheel drive (2WD), 4-wheel drive (4WD) High, and 4WD Low driving modes ensure you can handle any terrain with confidence. With so much equipment in tow, you can avoid the dreaded rollback on steep roads with Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.

Safety and Tech

There are a number of driver-assistance features to ensure you, your passengers, and your gear make it safely to your destination. Some of these available safety features include:

  • Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Traction Control System (TCS)
  • Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
  • Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD)
