The 2019 Nissan Leaf Is Loaded With Tech
Kelley Blue Book recognized the Nissan Leaf as 2019’s lowest 5-year cost to own vehicle in its class. It says a lot about the Leaf, but it doesn’t say everything. That’s why we’ve put together the following overview on this model.

Highlights of the Nissan Leaf
Performance
There are two battery choices for the Nissan Leaf: a 62kWh battery with a range of 226 miles or the 40kWh with a range of 150 miles. You’ll find thousands of charging stations across the globe, but you can also plug the Leaf in at home. In 8 hours, the 40-kWh battery will be fully charged and ready for your commute.
Technology
While the Nissan Leaf has available comforts such as heated steering and seats, much of the fun of driving it comes from its technological conveniences. With NISSANCONNECT® you can connect your phone, smartwatch, Alexa, or Action for Google Assistant to your vehicle. By doing this, you’ll be able to control cabin temperature, check on your current battery charge and range, lock or unlock your car, flash your lights, honk your horn, and more.
Safety
Technology isn’t just designed to keep us entertained and make things convenient, it’s also used to keep us safe. NISSAN INTELLIGENT MOBILITY™ is a testament to that. One of the features within this system is ProPilot Assist, which lets you set distance limits between you and the car ahead of you. This adaptive cruise control system will slow the car down when someone cuts in front of you or accelerate when there’s sudden space ahead, maintaining your set distance for you. It can even bring you to a complete stop or keep you from drifting into other lanes.
Intelligent Driver Alertness is another available feature for this system. It will monitor your driving patterns to determine whether you need to stop for a break. Also available is a set of alerts — speed alert, valet alert, curfew alert, boundary alert — which you can set to keep your teen driver safe and your car where it should be.
Other safety features available include:
- Blind spot monitoring
- Rear cross traffic alert with surround view monitor
- Automatic braking for pedestrian detection
- Intelligent cruise control
- Intelligent high beams
